Tell us about yourself
I’m from Bow in East London and I’m 24 years old.
Why did you decide to do the course?
I wanted to get more qualifications to put on my cv, and I just wanted some support getting work. The Traineeship sounded like a good programme.
What did the course involve?
The course involved a lot of training online. It included things like customer service, confidence building, mental health, fire safety, equality diversity. I think in total it was more than 20 different areas covered as part of the qualification. The course was delivered over the phone and online.
What have you gained from undertaking the course?
I learned a lot in some different areas to help support me getting work in a few different sectors. I feel I’ve got a really strong CV now, and I definitely think I’m more employable than before.
What impact has the course made to your life?
I learned a lot and feel more knowledgeable, and I’m more confident. I understand more about the different areas of work, which has really helped me to feel less anxious about working.
How did JIF Training support you during your programme?
Lewis and Hannah especially went out of their way to help me as I struggle with dyspraxia. They broke down the information into really simple questions and teaching methods, and they went at a pace that suited me which was great. They really went above and beyond, I’m very thankful for all of their support.
How would you rate JIF Training?
I would rate JIF Training a 10/10 and have recommended JIF to my friends who want support too. I think a few of them have already enrolled with JIF, and they have only positive things to say.
What are your plans now after completing the course?
I’ve been shown some job opportunities I can apply for. I am also looking forward to going on a work placement trip abroad as part of the Turing Scheme. I didn’t even know about it at the start as it is a new contract they have, but JIF offered it to me after completing the traineeship. This was unexpected but I am very excited!
